To decorate cakes, fresh fruit slices are used as garnish which looks lifeless after some time. You can glaze the fruits so that they look fresh and tempting.
To make the glaze for the fruits, you need to dissolve a tsp of cornflour with half a cup of water and two tsps sugar, till the mixture turns translucent. When cool, add a few drops of lemon juice. This can be applied over the fruits using a brush. Melted apricot jam may also be used for glazing.
