Moong Dal Porridge



INGREDIENTS :

Moong Dal (green gram lentil) : 1 Cup
Jaggery grated : 1 Cup
Coconut grated : 1/2 Cup
Ghee : 2 tablespoons
Cashew nuts : 2 tablespoons
Cardamom powder : 1 teaspoon

METHOD :

1. Soak the moong dal in water for 2 hours. Then drain it. Heat the ghee and fry the moong dal, till it is slightly pink and gives a good smell.
2. Grate coconut. Grind in mixer with little water. Strain and remove milk (thick milk) and then add some more water. Strain milk (thin milk). Get 1/4 th cup thick and 1/4 th cup thin milk.
3. In a vessel, add 2 cups of water and cook the dal on low heat (covered vessel) till soft. Add jaggery and cook for 5 minutes.
4. Then add the cardamom powder. Add the coconut juice. Mix serve.
