CHOC -OAT- CHIP COOKIES

Ingredients :
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2-teaspoon salt (optional)
2 1/2 cups Quaker oats (Quick or old-fashioned, uncooked)
1-12 ounce package (2 cups) semisweet chocolate morsels
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts (optional)


Method :

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Beat butter and sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well. Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in oats, chocolate morsels and nuts; mix well. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie, or 12 to 13 minutes for a crisp cookie. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Yield about 5 dozen cookies.

For easy bar cookies, press dough onto bottom of ungreased 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake about 35 to 40 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool; cut into bars. Yield: about 3 dozen bar cookies.
