Ingredients 1 cup beaten rice/ poha 3/th cup jaggery/ (or molasses) 1 1/2 cups grated coconut 1/4th tsp salt Fresh turmeric leaf/ 1/4th tsp cardamom powder. Method 1) Wash the beaten rice & drain out the water. Keep aside for 15 mins. 2) Grind the grated coconut & remove juice twice. First the thick juice in 1 cup water & then the thin juice in 2 cups water. 3) Cook the beaten rice along with jaggery & turmeric leaf in the thin coconut juice & 1 cup water. Add salt. Bring to a boil. 4) Add the thick coconut juice & keep on low flame & bring the mixture to a boil. Remove from fire. Serve hot or cold.
Note: There should be some liquid when it is done, as the beaten rice will soak up some liquid when kept for some time. Also you may use coconut milk tin & make the recipe adjusting with water. Variation: Add some chopped dry fruiits of your choice in the porridge
