Coconut Macroons


INGREDIENTS :

Egg whites - 2
Desiccated powder (coconut) - 100 gms /3.5 oz
Sugar - 3 tbsps
Coconut or vanilla essence -1/2 tsp

METHOD :

1. Separate the yolk from the egg white.
2. Beat the egg white till stiff. Add the sugar and the desiccated coconut and mix with a light hand.
3. Put a spoonful on greased tray. Go on adding another spoonful, keeping adequate distance between the two.
4. Bake in an oven at 150 degrees C/ 300 o F till done.

TIP

You may substitute coconut with 85 gms of nuts like peanuts, cashewnuts, walnuts or almonds chopped. Instead of white sugar you may substitute with 85 gms Brown sugar to make nut Macroons.
