Basic Sponge Cake


INGREDIENTS :


Eggs : 3 large
Sugar : 115 gms
Vanilla a few drops
Refined flour : 75 gms
Cocoa : 10 gms
Sodium Bicarbonate : 1/8 th teaspoon
Melted butter : 85 gms
Baking Powder : 1/8 th teaspoon


METHOD :

1. Sieve the flour, cocoa and sodium Bicarbonate together thrice.
2. Beat eggs. Add granulated sugar gradually. Continue beating till it becomes thick and creamy.
3. Add sieved flour and clarified butter. Mix very carefully, but, soon. Pour it in a greased and floured tin. Bake at 200oC for 30-35 minutes.


NOTE : To make plain sponge cake. You may substitute 10 gms cocoa powder with 10 gms of plain flour.
