How to caramalise sugar
|
The act of caramelizing sugar is to heat sugar so as to get a brown golden syrup - mostly used in desserts and cakes. Take 5 tbsp sugar and heat it in a vessel, till it becomes brown. Add two tbsps water. Stir constantly so that no lumps are formed. Bring it to a boiling point and see that the colour changes to golden. Then immediately put a vessel in cold water and use as per recipe.
